Forest Management
The Division of Forestry & Fire Protection is bound by the Alaska statutes and administrative code sections that directly govern forest management activities on state forest land and by the Alaska Forest Resources and Practices Act and Alaska Forest Resources and Practices Regulations.

Wildland Fire
The Division of Forestry & Fire Protection also provides protection from wildland fire on forested land that is owned privately, by the state, or by a municipality. The Division’s fire activities are governed by the Alaska Wildland Fire Protection Statutes and Regulations.
